Triboluminescence of Lanthanide Complexes

چکیده

Abstract The photoluminescence of lanthanide complexes originating from f–f transitions is generally sensitized through energy transfer the ligand to ion in excited state under UV irradiation. This phenomenon known as photo-antenna effect. Luminescence driven by mechanical stimuli, such tapping or rubbing, called mechanoluminescence triboluminescence (TL). In recent years, reports on TL rare-earth complexes, which have attracted attention novel luminescent materials that do not require an electrical excitation source, steadily increased. this chapter, we focus triboluminescent complexes. Specifically, introduce history and detection methods cite examples demonstrating phenomenon, particularly coordination polymer-like discrete molecular crystalline Finally, summarize application prospects these soft crystals.
